Meet the Teacher

Hi, My name is Shannon. I grew up on a farm/ranch near a small town in Montana. My family and I have been in California for 11 years and my husband and I have three beautiful daughters. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and while living in Montana I owned a 3-station salon, a women's clothing store, and a tanning salon.

When my family and I moved to California in 1995, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom and didn't return to work until April of 2002 when I took a job at the local Montessori School as a break person and substitute. In January 2003, I moved to full time assistant, and I realized that I loved the Montessori philosophy. I chose to enter the United Montessori Association training course to become a certified Montessori Teacher.

In July 2003, I was given the position of Lead Teacher in the East room. I taught in the East room for 2 years and resigned my position in June of 2005 to open my own Montessori school. I am certified to teach children ages 2-7, which includes Kindergarten, by the United Montessori Association and I am licensed by the California Department of Social Services.

My hobbies include: spending time with my family and friends, scrapbooking, crafts and I enjoy coaching my some of my children's sports programs. I believe that each child is unique in personality and learning technique and I enjoy creating a comfortable and exciting environment for the children.
