February is already quickly disappearing and I think we are all anxiously awaiting a warming trend. It gets warmer and then cooler. It seems to be an endless cycle this year. I love the cooler weather too, but I am ready for something warm!
Valentines Day Celebration
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 10th and 11th. Below is a list of children in the classroom. This will aid in addressing Valentines. Please include each child in the classroom, even if your child doesn’t attend with him/her. The children will decorate valentine boxes and deliver their valentines during our celebration. I would like them to be addressed to the specific children this year and we will play a name matching game when passing them out. Thank you!

100 Day
We will also be celebrating our 100th day of school in the classroom on February 18th and 19thth. This is always a fun day for the children. We will create bundles of ten things to learn the concept of 100. We will learn a song in preparation of counting to 100 and we will build 100 cup castles. If your child would like to send in a “100 project”, please have them bag the item 10 per baggie and send them in for the class to count. Some ideas might be 100 M&M’s, 100 cotton balls, 100 pennies or 100 toothpicks, Have fun and be creative!
Skill Summaries
I had skill summaries on the calendar for January. Sometimes it takes the children a little longer to settle back into the classroom after the Christmas break, so they weren’t quite ready in January. I will begin testing after we get back from the President’s day weekend and will have the summaries out to you by March 15th at the latest.
